Soaring Year for Phoenix International
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wood Dale, Illinois – April 30, 2008 – Phoenix International Freight Services, Ltd. is experiencing a banner fiscal year full of noteworthy accomplishments and accolades. Phoenix has a new President/CEO and a new VP; the company was recognized as one of the best employers in the Chicago area; and it opened new branch offices in three American cities and five cities in China.
“Our fiscal year began July 1st and was marked by the promotion of Stephane Rambaud to president & chief executive officer. Stephane started his career with Phoenix as an import clerk in 1985 and will lead us well into the future,” explains retired chairman Bill McInerney.
Already known as the largest privately-owned, full-service international freight forwarder/NVOCC and customs broker headquartered in North America, Phoenix strengthened its global network during the year with office openings and expansions in eight cities (Miami, FL, Nashville, TN, Springfield, MO in the USA as well as Xian, Nanjing, Chongqing, Wuhan and Hangzhou in China).
“But what we are most proud of is to be recognized as one of the top 30 Best Places to Work in the greater Chicago area for 2008,” said Stephane Rambaud. Crain’s Chicago Business journal factored in employee count, benefits and healthcare, hiring practices, management, day-to-day workplace culture, and more in its methodology behind choosing the best companies. “It is gratifying to know our surveyed employees played a key role in the decision making process. If you are happy to come to work it benefits everyone; clients, employees and the company,” said Rambaud.
Phoenix International just moved up the ranks to number 46 in Crain’s 2008 list of the largest privately held companies in the greater Chicago area. Earlier in the year Phoenix also made Crain’s Fast Fifty list highlighting the region’s best and most innovative private and public companies, with rankings based on five-year revenue growth.
One of Phoenix International’s star performers, Laura Peacock, received a well-deserved promotion during the year to vice president, Global Accounts. “Laura’s limitless dedication to her clients and driving force behind our innovative information service solutions made key contributions to our company’s continued success,” said Rambaud. Phoenix is on par to surpass $850 Million in fiscal 2008 revenues.
