Phoenix International Announces Management Promotions
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wood Dale, Illinois – September 28, 2007 – Phoenix International Freight Services, Ltd.’s recently-appointed president & chief executive officer, Stephane Rambaud, has established a new regional management system to further support the company’s global network of more than 275 locations in 100 countries. Phoenix International is the largest privately-owned full service international freight forwarder/NVOCC and Customs broker headquartered in North America.
Rambaud also promoted Emil Ray Sanchez to chief financial officer. Sanchez, formerly vice president of finance, began his career with Phoenix in 1989 as a messenger.
Rick Mettetal now serves as Phoenix’s vice president, and also in charge of the company’s eastern region. Mettetal was previously vice president of the eastern region; he began his career with Phoenix in 1993 as sales representative in its Cleveland office.
Raj Dias, formerly regional director for the Indian subcontinent, has been promoted to vice president, south Asia. Dias joined Phoenix in 2005.
Matt McInerney, formerly Phoenix’s New York/New Jersey general manager, is now regional manager for the northeastern region. McInerney began his career with Phoenix in 1996 as an export operations clerk in its Indianapolis office.
Jack Fleischman has been promoted to southeastern regional manager. Fleischman joined Phoenix in 1998 as Atlanta general manager.
Todd Crabtree is now one of two central regional managers. Crabtree joined Phoenix in 2000 as general manager of the Chicago branch office.
Mike Shorthas also been promoted to a central regional manager position. Short was general manager of the St. Louis office, where he began his career with Phoenix in 1999 as sales manager.
Steve Puleio has been promoted to southwestern regional manager. Puleio joined the company in 2004 as general manager of the Kansas City and Omaha offices.
John Vestalcontinues his leadership role as the company’s western regional manager. Vestal joined Phoenix in 2002.
Andy Polley ’s new role is regional managing director of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Polley started with the company in 2005 as UK managing director.
Tony Tan is now regional managing director overseeing the company’s interests in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Tan joined and started the Singapore office in 1995 as managing director.
In addition to the above changes, Phoenix’s Charlotte general manager, Chuck Skinner, has been promoted to general manager of the Carolinas. Skinner began his career with Phoenix in 1994 as the general manager of its New York/ New Jersey branch. Furthermore, Avelino Garcia joins Phoenix as general manager of its Miami office, and Tammy Birlew is now the Minneapolis general manager. Birlew began her career with Phoenix as the Kansas City office’s receptionist in 1994.
Other recent corporate appointments include Ursula Borzym as PIX LINE general manager, Doug Berry to the position of USA financial reporting manager from financial reporting supervisor and Tony Porras to the position of global financial reporting manager from financial reporting manager.
