Retailers warn on port congestion – JOC - Delays on the nation's intermodal rail network have prompted a national retailers group to raise its assessment of West Coast port congestion to "medium" in November from "low" in October. However, the monthly Port Tracker published by the National Retail Federation and Global Insight said that with the peak shipping season in the eastbound Pacific coming to an end, the rail delays will not cause a problem in getting merchandise to the stores for the holiday shopping season.

U.S. & CHINA REACH TEXTILE AGREEMENT

The U.S. Trade Representative announced that the U.S. and China have reached a broad agreement governing Chinese exports of textile and apparel to the U.S. The deal will take effect on January 1, 2006 and cover 34 clothing and textile categories, significantly above the 19 categories currently subject to safeguard restrictions.

Phoenix International will decrease our existing fuel surcharge. The decrease will be from $0.60/kg to $0.55/kg USD. The effective date, for the decrease, will be for any air export shipment processed on/after November 21, 2005 .

Another Forwarder Bought Out - Brink's Co. announced the signing of a definitive agreement to sell its BAX Global express unit for approximately $1.1 billion in cash to Deutsche Bahn of Germany .
